Stokes wants potholes fixed around JSU
SUMMARY: Councilman Kenneth Stokes is concerned about the condition of the roads in Jackson, Mississippi, especially in the area surrounding Jackson State University (JSU). He believes that the 1% sales tax collected for infrastructure projects, including roads, should be used to fix these roads. Stokes argues that it is not fair that some neighborhoods are being overlooked while others are receiving attention. Both residents and Stokes believe that the poor condition of the roads reflects negatively on the city, especially with JSU's first home football game approaching. Stokes suggests that the public works department should at least patch up the potholes before the game.
Jackson City Councilman Kenneth Stokes says JSU fans shouldn't have to worry about potholes.
