‘Legend dairy’ man carries ice cream and dry ice up Colorado peak as treat for other hikers
SUMMARY: Over Labor Day weekend, hikers ascending Colorado’s Huron Peak, a 14,000-foot mountain, encountered an unexpected treat: a man dressed in an ice cream cone costume handing out frozen snacks from a 60-pound pack. The ice cream man quickly became a local legend, delighting tired climbers like Blaine and Katie Griffin and Christopher Whitestone’s children. Photos showed him relaxed with a beer, sunglasses, and a fake mustache, earning praise on social media for his stamina and spirit. Though the ice cream eventually ran out, his quirky gesture reminded hikers to enjoy the moment and have fun rather than just focusing on achievements.

Marsquakes indicate a solid core for the red planet, just like Earth
SUMMARY: Scientists, using seismic data from NASA’s InSight lander, have discovered that Mars has a solid inner core composed mainly of iron and nickel, similar to Earth’s. The inner core extends about 380 miles (613 km) from the planet’s center and is surrounded by a larger liquid outer core reaching up to 1,100 miles (1,800 km). The study, led by Daoyuan Sun, suggests Mars’ core crystallization may still be ongoing. Despite these findings, questions remain about the core’s exact composition and structure. With InSight no longer operational, further seismic data is unavailable, limiting deeper understanding of Mars’ interior and magnetic history.

BILOXI INDIANS HOLD ON TO BEAT PASCAGOULA 21-18
SUMMARY: The Biloxi Indians dominated their Week 2 home game against the Pascagoula Panthers, starting strong with a touchdown drive led by QB Jordan Ramsey and WR Davie Griffin. Biloxi’s defense pressured Pascagoula, forcing turnovers including a key fumble recovery by William Lai. Running back Dylan Dixson scored twice, extending Biloxi’s lead to 21-0. Despite Pascagoula’s defensive interception and a late surge scoring 18 unanswered points, Biloxi’s early control and defensive resilience secured their victory. The Panthers’ comeback fell short, as the Indians maintained their momentum from Week 1 and defended their home turf successfully under Friday night lights.
