Stamps wins Public Service Commissioner race

SUMMARY: In the close Public Service Commissioner race for the Central District in Mississippi, De’Keither Stamps (D-Miss.) emerged the victor with 131,727 votes against the incumbent Commissioner Brent Bailey (R-Miss.), who received 129,593 votes. The election results have yet to be certified. Stamps is a former House Representative for District 66 and ex-Jackson City councilman. Bailey commented on the election outcome, acknowledging the AP’s call and anticipating the official certification process, while expressing gratitude for his term and extending best wishes to the Commission for January.
