An Outstanding Southern Miss Baseball season comes to an end at the Hattiesburg Regional
SUMMARY: The Southern Miss baseball team had an exceptional 2025 season, finishing with a 47-16 overall record and setting a new single-season home run record of 106. They achieved an 18-game winning streak, had seven players on the Sun Belt Conference team, and earned both the Sun Belt Player of the Year and Ferris Trophy honors. Head Coach Christian Ostrander praised the team’s unity, leadership, and hard work. Seniors Carson Paetow and Matt Adams reflected on their deep bonds, growth, and gratitude for their time as Golden Eagles. This memorable season also featured Southern Miss hosting another NCAA Regional, highlighting a truly outstanding year.

Mercy Cross Center marks one year of changing lives in Biloxi
SUMMARY: The Mercy Cross Center in downtown Biloxi, Mississippi, marked its first anniversary, having helped 136 homeless individuals transition into housing, jobs, or family reunification. Founded by Bishop Louis Kihneman after seven homeless deaths inspired him, the center offers meals, healthcare, psychiatric support, and job training through community partners like Catholic Charities, Memorial Hospital, Loaves and Fishes, and Goodwill. Pearl River Baseball mercy rules first World Series competitor 11-3! Wildcats will now face in-state rival East Central Tuesday night.
SUMMARY: Pearl River Community College (PRCC) Wildcats, seeded second, opened the 2025 NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series in Enid, Oklahoma, with an 11–3 mercy-rule victory over Kellogg Community College. Freshman outfielder Jackson Hood ignited the offense with a solo home run in the fourth inning and contributed two hits, two RBIs, and two walks.
