Jones County investigators work to solve 2011 cold case
SUMMARY: Jones County cold case investigators seek help solving the 2011 murder of Charles “Charlie” Adcock. Adcock was found shot in the head inside his Ellisville home on June 23, the same day his Waynesboro pawn shop was burglarized. Waynesboro police had requested to check on him but couldn’t reach him; his daughter said Sayto Ford arrived first and found the body. Handguns, cash, and keys to his vehicle and businesses were missing. Witnesses reported a Black woman came to Adcock’s door the night before asking for help, believed to be a decoy. Two men were seen waiting in a sedan, possibly a Pontiac. Investigators suspect gang involvement possibly linked to Adcock’s daughter. Motive may involve money Ford sought from Adcock, which he refused. Anyone with information is urged to call authorities.

Interview: Health Alliance hosting several events in September
SUMMARY: The Northeast Mississippi Health Alliance, founded in 2021, connects community stakeholders and service providers to offer mental health and recovery resources. Director Terry Bober announced two upcoming events. The inaugural “Recovery at the Park” will be held on Saturday, September 27, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Ballot Park. This free family event includes 15-20 vendors, live music, food, and children’s activities. The fourth annual Mental Health and Substance Use Recovery Summit is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cadence Bank Conference Center in Tupelo, featuring educational sessions, networking, and 35-40 vendors. Admission ranges from $35 to $50.
The Health Alliance is hosting several events next month in Tupelo.

Morning ‘Sip: The Sanctuary
SUMMARY: Jasper was hesitant to show his skates, so they were displayed for everyone. Skates are available, with beginner classes planned at the new skating facility called The Sanctuary, located at 2650 Belvedere Drive in South Jackson. The facility will offer memberships for practice access and various levels of classes, including skate dancing and dancercise.
