Southern Miss hires former Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chip Long

Praised by Southern Miss head coach Will Hall for his successful offensive strategies, Long takes over a team that averaged 25.3 points and 349.2 yards per game last season. He’s expected to call plays, succeeding Hall who relinquished play-calling duties midseason. Hall and Long previously worked together at Tulane and were teammates at North Alabama.

MDOT to release documentary on 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina

Definitive agreement signed to sell Starkville hospital to Baptist Memorial
