Police responded to reports of screams inside an apartment and found Kendrall Tate actively stabbing another man. The Gulfport police officer involved shot Tate, who later died from his injuries. The AG’s investigation determined the use of force was justified. This finding comes alongside reviews of two other officer-involved shootings in Corinth and Meridian, which were also examined by Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s office.

After the investigation by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, the Attorney General’s Office said the use of force was justified.
