Shoppers react to news of Dirt Cheap closing

SUMMARY: All Dirt Cheap stores are closing following the bankruptcy of their parent company, Channel Control Merchants, which filed for Chapter 11 on October 10. The chain, founded over 30 years ago in Hattiesburg, will shut down all 60 locations, including 29 in Mississippi. The closing signs are posted prominently, marking the end of a significant discount retailer in the community. The local manager indicated that the Starkville store will close in December, with no updates yet on other affiliated stores.
