Second arrest made after more than 20 ‘severely malnourished’ dogs found at Corinth home
SUMMARY: Sondra Bullard was arrested alongside her fiancé, Jonathan Hurst, following a mass animal cruelty incident in Corinth, where over two dozen severely malnourished dogs were discovered. Law enforcement found eight unhealthy dogs outside and at least 20 inside Hurst’s home. Both face 27 counts of animal cruelty, with Hurst having bonded out. Tragically, at least one dog was found dead. The Corinth-Alcorn Animal Shelter is caring for the surviving animals, and donations for their support can be made through their official website.

New cast, no problem: Ole Miss handles Georgia State in 63-7 blowout
SUMMARY: Ole Miss, after losing 18 starters, dominated Georgia State 63-7 in week one under coach Lane Kiffin. Sophomore QB Austin Simmons debuted with 341 passing yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions but improved as the game progressed. Running back Kewan Lacy led with 108 yards and three touchdowns, highlighting Ole Miss’ improved running game. The defense, led by coordinator Pete Golding, stifled Georgia State’s offense, allowing just 260 total yards. Special teams’ Lucas Carneiro contributed two field goals. Coach Kiffin praised Lacy’s versatility but noted inconsistency in the offensive line. Ole Miss next faces Kentucky on September 6 in Lexington for revenge after last year’s home loss.

Milam, who along with Roy Bryant murdered Till after false accusations by Carolyn Bryant, the gun and holster are now displayed at the Two Mississippi Museums in Jackson. The artifacts, donated by an unrelated family, help educate visitors on Till’s story and its impact on the civil rights movement. Till’s family expressed hope for more items to surface. The FBI reopened the case in 2004 but lacked jurisdiction. Till’s open-casket funeral galvanized racial equity efforts nationwide.
