Search underway for MS inmate who had to ‘go’ during transport
SUMMARY: A Mississippi inmate named Kurtis Elkins escaped while being transported from Benton County to Marshall County. Elkins asked for a bathroom break, and when the corrections officer pulled over, he ran off. Elkins is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 200 pounds, and was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans, and handcuffs. Despite not being considered dangerous, a search involving multiple law enforcement agencies is underway. The search is focused on a large wooded area near Snow Lake Shores. Elkins is believed to still be wearing handcuffs attached to a leather restraint belt.
