Sarah Boone Trial: Day 4 lunch recap
SUMMARY: This afternoon, the defense is expected to call Dr. Harper, a witness in Sarah Boon’s case, to discuss her evaluation in relation to the battered spouse syndrome defense. This follows testimony from a forensic psychologist who explained the syndrome’s dynamics, laying groundwork for Boon’s defense. The prosecution cross-examined this psychologist, mentioning other disorders that may impact Boon’s credibility. They presented a video of George Torres acting violently, which Boon had testified about previously. The defense is nearing the end of its case, with plans to rest soon after Dr. Harper’s testimony, and the prosecution may follow with rebuttal witnesses.
Live video feed of Sarah Boone’s trial. Sarah Boone is accused of killing her boyfriend, Jorge Torres, in Feb. 2020 by zipping him up in a suitcase during a drunken game of hide-and-seek. Torres was found dead in the suitcase the next day. Sarah Boone claims Torres’ death was in self-defense.

‘Defacing sidewalk prohibited:’ New signs at Pulse, 1 arrested as Florida steps up rainbow fight
SUMMARY: At the former Pulse Nightclub crosswalk in Orlando, Florida, protests using chalk have continued since the FDOT removed the rainbow crosswalk honoring Pulse shooting victims, following a federal directive to remove non-safety-related road art. Recently, new signs were posted prohibiting chalking on the sidewalk as well as the road. A man, Orestes Suarez, was arrested for leaving chalk footprints on the street. FDOT states its responsibility is to ensure roadways remain free of social or political markings to maintain safety and uniformity. Activists accuse the state of targeting the Pulse memorial unfairly, while authorities emphasize traffic safety concerns.
