Saints defeat Titans to win record fifth consecutive season opener
SUMMARY: The New Orleans Saints started off the 2023 season with a strong defense and numerous offensive weapons. In their season opener against the Tennessee Titans, the defense performed well, keeping the Titans out of the end zone. The first half saw five field goal attempts from both teams, with the Saints trailing 9-6 at halftime. In the third quarter, rookie kicker Blake Groopy made his third field goal to tie the game. Later in the quarter, the Saints intercepted the Titans for the third time and Derek Carr threw his first touchdown pass as a Saint. The Saints won their franchise record fifth consecutive opening week victory. Defensive end Cam Jordan praised the fans and emphasized the importance of coordination among all aspects of the team. The Saints will now prepare for their next game against the Carolina Panthers.
