Congressman Mike Ezell is speaking out after last week’s historic election for Speaker of the House.

GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy was elected speaker after five days and 15 rounds of voting, the longest election for a speaker in a hundred years.

Congressman Mike Ezell and the other 434 representatives had to wait to be officially sworn in until a speaker was elected.

One arrested, one wanted in fatal Gulfport shooting

SUMMARY: A fatal shooting occurred in Gulfport on April 28, 2025, when suspects Paul Ravin Martin Jr. and Kevin Eugene James opened fire on individuals in the Holly Circle area. Three victims were injured, and 16-year-old Cobi Earnest later died from gunshot wounds. Martin, 23, was arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder, Shooting into a Dwelling, and three counts of Aggravated Assault. He was out on bond for a previous drive-by shooting.
