Renovations continue at Clarkco State Park, but nature trail completed

The state is assisting with significant upgrades, including renovating 43 campsites starting July 8 with new pads and sewage, aiming for completion by February 2025. The office and lodge renovations are nearly done, with six cabins awaiting new furniture. Future plans include a new amphitheater. Nature trails and the tennis court, now featuring pickleball, have been updated, and disc golf is available. Funding has also been secured for mountain bike trails. A high-pressure system will move in by Thursday, bringing well-above-average temperatures. Heat indices may reach 107–110 degrees by Friday, especially west of I-55 in Mississippi.
