Rankin County deputies accused of torturing two Black men fired
SUMMARY: The Rankin County deputies who allegedly beat and tortured two Black men in January 2023 have been fired. The deputies were initially on administrative leave, but were terminated after findings from an internal investigation. A $400 million lawsuit has been filed on behalf of the victims, seeking damages for the alleged abuse.
