SUMMARY: The ULA Atlas V rocket successfully launched Amazon’s Project Kuiper satellites from Florida’s Space Coast at 6:54 a.m. Eastern. The launch proceeded smoothly with all systems nominal. The Atlas V lifted off with solid rocket boosters providing extra thrust, reached supersonic speeds, and passed through max Q with stable hydraulics. The payload fairing protecting the satellites was jettisoned after exiting the atmosphere. After the Atlas first stage cutoff and separation, the Centaur upper stage ignited to deliver the satellites to low Earth orbit. The launch marked a key step in expanding Amazon’s satellite internet constellation.

United Launch Alliance launched a second batch of Project Kuiper satellites aboard an Atlas V rocket from Florida on Monday morning. Liftoff occurred at 6:54 a.m. ET from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
