SUMMARY: Candidates for the Republican primary for lieutenant governor spoke at the Shelby County Fair in Founders Square. This primary is considered the most significant of all the statewide party primaries on the August 8th ballot. State senator Chris McDaniel and incumbent Delbert Hoseman took shots at each other, with McDaniel accusing Hoseman of being a do-nothing politician and Hoseman questioning McDaniel’s conservative values. The third candidate, Tiffany Longino, also spoke but did not engage in the same level of criticism. After their speeches, the candidates spoke to reporters.
