Pascagoula High’s Keilon Parnell signs with Mississippi State baseball
When Pascagoula dual-sport standout Keilon Parnell was just a freshman, he gave his verbal pledge to Mississippi State baseball. Now a senior, the former News 25 Student Athlete of the Week is finally making good on that commitment almost three years later.
“After I committed, that relieves some stress. But signing and making it official, you feel part of the team and you can start building relationships on this team starting now.”
989 days after choosing the Bulldogs as a freshman, Keilon Parnell is choosing them all over again as a senior on National Signing Day….
SUMMARY: Circle Hook Distilling in Gulfport, Mississippi is the first legal distillery in Harrison County, producing award-winning rum. Co-owners Eli and Amy Underhill transitioned from commercial fishing to rum production, emphasizing quality ingredients and processes. They source Grade-A molasses and cane syrup from local sugar mills, along with well water from Harrison County for fermentation. Their handcrafted rum is aged in New American oak barrels, resulting in a versatile final product. In just three years, Circle Hook has expanded distribution to three states. The couple also collaborates with local artists for label design, embodying the spirit of Mississippi and the Gulf Coast.

Almost 3,500 Mississippi Veterans have enrolled in VA health care in past 365 days, 28% increase over last year
SUMMARY: The Department of Veterans Affairs has enrolled a record number of Veterans in VA health care in Mississippi and nationally. This historic enrollment is the result of aggressive outreach efforts, including events, advertising campaigns, and text messages to encourage Veterans to enroll. VA's goal is to ensure that all eligible Veterans receive the best and most affordable care available. VA has also expanded health care eligibility for Veterans exposed to toxins and hazards while serving in the military, allowing more Veterans to enroll directly in VA health care. The VA is continuing to reach out to Veterans to encourage them to apply for their health care and benefits.
