Oyster season to begin in Mississippi on November 13
SUMMARY: The 2024 oyster harvesting season in Mississippi will begin on November 13, with areas designated for collection including St. Joe reefs and various locations in Pass Christian, Waveland, and beyond. The season is limited to a maximum of 10 harvest days. Harvest limits are set at 10 sacks per commercial vessel and three sacks per recreational license holder per week. The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources will establish check stations to ensure compliance with regulations. Harvesters must check in before gathering oysters in the specified zones.
