Oxford students plant trees at high school

SUMMARY: Oxford High School added 12 new trees to its campus with the help of students and teachers. The LED environmental service organization Hill Country Roots donated the trees and provided hands-on learning opportunities for students. The organization, which started with four students concerned about erosion in the Oxford Community, now has over 100 members dedicated to volunteering and expanding their knowledge. The CTE horticulture class, Environmental Group, and community service class all participated in the planting. The community service class will be responsible for watering the trees as needed. The group plans to reunite at Oxford High in the near future to plant eight more trees.
