Man arrested for fatal shooting on McCluer Road
SUMMARY: A man was arrested following a fatal shooting inside a vehicle in Jackson, Mississippi. Detective Tommie Brown reported that Keiveontta Monterrio Jashon Turner, 24, surrendered at the Jackson Police Department (JPD) headquarters. Turner was wanted for first-degree murder. The incident occurred on June 10 on McCluer Road near Rainey Road. The victim, who was male, has yet to be identified. Authorities urge anyone with additional information to contact the JPD at 601-960-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477).

Mississippi mom says son was beating her when he was shot by deputy
SUMMARY: In Alcorn County, Mississippi, Geraldine Lambert reported being severely beaten by her son, Jason Sekerak, who was allegedly under the influence of drugs. The incident occurred at Lambert's home, where Sekerak cut himself and later attacked her with a metal flashlight. He made threats, claiming, “I'm Satan and you will die today.” When deputies arrived, they found Sekerak striking Lambert. Despite being tased, Sekerak continued, prompting a deputy to shoot him in the back of the neck. Sekerak is now in critical condition, possibly paralyzed. Lambert sustained multiple injuries. The deputy involved is on administrative leave pending an investigation.
