It’s been a fun ten days for the Our Lady Academy volleyball program, relishing in the moment of being Class 3A volleyball state champions.

On Friday, the Crescents took a trip to the WXXV Studio to hang out with News 25’s own Meggan Gray and show off their brand-new Gold Ball.

They now have 15 of them in program history, but the first for third-year Head Coach Emily Corley, who’s following in her father’s footsteps, even though Mike Meyers is still her assistant coach.

This season, OLA posted an overall record of 29-9, winning 24 out of its last 25 matches…

One arrested, one wanted in fatal Gulfport shooting

SUMMARY: A fatal shooting occurred in Gulfport on April 28, 2025, when suspects Paul Ravin Martin Jr. and Kevin Eugene James opened fire on individuals in the Holly Circle area. Three victims were injured, and 16-year-old Cobi Earnest later died from gunshot wounds. Martin, 23, was arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder, Shooting into a Dwelling, and three counts of Aggravated Assault. He was out on bond for a previous drive-by shooting.
