Orlando shooting: 17-year-old suspected shooter fired shots within feet of police officers
SUMMARY: Seventeen-year-old Jaylen Edgar, with a prior serious arrest for theft, now faces two counts of first-degree murder following a shooting incident in downtown Orlando. Police captured video of Edgar casually pulling out a gun and firing it behind him amid a crowd, even in front of ten officers who swiftly apprehended him. Sheriff Grady Jud commented on the situation, highlighting the immediate police response but emphasizing deeper societal issues, including a lack of respect for the law and one another. Authorities are investigating how Edgar obtained the weapon, as he was seen wandering downtown without entering any establishments.
A mass shooting in downtown Orlando on Halloween left two people dead and eight others hurt, officials said. A 17-year-old is in jail facing first-degree murder charges. A motive is not known yet.
