Meanwhile, the big story of the day is that Nick Saban, the 72-year-old head coach, is retiring from Alabama after 17 seasons. During his time at Alabama, Saban won 6 national titles and has a record 7 championships including LSU. Deion Sanders and Marcus Spears both commented on Saban’s retirement, with Sanders calling him “the greatest college football coach to ever live.”

ESPN Reporter Chris Low broke the news the Nick Saban is retiring after 17 seasons leading the Alabama football program. The University of Alabama has not made an official announcement yet. Saban will be regarded as the greatest college football coach of all time with 7 national championships-6 at Alabama. He won 11 SEC titles and was coach of the year 5 times. In what could very well be his final season the Crimson Tide lost in overtime to eventual National Champion Michigan in the College Football Playoff Semifinals at the Rose Bowl.
