SUMMARY: On Tuesday, the National Hurricane Center reported active tropical cyclone activity in the Southeast U.S. as communities recover from Hurricane Helene. Currently, the season has seen six named storms, including three hurricanes, aligning with the long-term average. Forecasters are tracking Hurricane Kirk, expected to intensify into a major hurricane with winds up to 125 mph. A trailing tropical wave may also develop, while another area of thunderstorms in the Caribbean could become a tropical depression by the weekend, but faces challenges due to wind shear. Regardless, it may bring moisture to Florida’s Gulf coast.
