There is new research available about Mississippi’s oldest standing building. This old building has stood the test of time, and even after hurricane Katrina, is still left standing. It has gone some restructuring since then, but the original building remains. In the report it details all that the building has gone through over the years and it was even noted that there was a tree used in the building that has been around since the 1500’s, and the diagrams explain in detail the changes that have occurred.
- The building has undergone stabilization since the Katrina hurricane and is still standing.
- The oldest tree near the building has been around since the early 1500’s.
- The papers outline the whole spectrum of the entire house from top to bottom.
“There has been a lot of work that has gone into determining the best course for preserving such a rare survivor. The first is the dendronchonology that was conducted on the building.”
