New Orleans Saints erase 16-point deficit in win Sunday
It wasn’t quite 28-3, but the Atlanta Falcons inability to hold on to a 26-10 fourth quarter lead almost as impressive as the New Orleans Saints coming back to score 17 unanswered points in less than 12 minutes.
According to ESPN, the Falcons had a 97.1 percent chance to win Sunday’s season opener early in the fourth quarter.

New Orleans Archdiocese agrees to $230 million settlement in clergy sex abuse case
SUMMARY: The New Orleans Archdiocese agreed to a $230 million settlement for survivors of clergy sexual abuse, surpassing a previous $179.2 million offer deemed insufficient by survivors’ attorneys. The archdiocese, which filed for bankruptcy in 2020 to manage claims collectively, views the settlement as a significant step forward. Survivors have until late October to vote; approval by two-thirds would initiate payouts by next year. The bankruptcy case is one of the longest and most contentious among U.S. Catholic Church abuse cases. Critics warn of prolonged court battles if the settlement fails, while some survivors emphasize that financial compensation can’t fully address lifelong trauma.

A decades-long peace vigil outside the White House is dismantled after Trump’s order
SUMMARY: Law enforcement removed a peace vigil outside the White House after over 40 years, following President Trump’s order amid clearing homeless encampments in D.C. Volunteer Philipos Melaku-Bello, who maintained the vigil, said officials wrongly labeled it a shelter, violating First Amendment rights. The White House called the vigil a “hazard” and part of Trump’s “beautification” efforts. The vigil, started in 1981 by activist William Thomas to promote nuclear disarmament, is the longest continuous U.S. anti-war protest. Trump ordered its removal after a conservative correspondent described the tent as an “eyesore” and potential security risk, claims Melaku-Bello disputes.
