SUMMARY: In an upcoming event in London, a girl is going to be involved in an event held on the bay celebrating Mardi Gras. The event is a part of the celebration of the Mystic Seahorse Krewe parade. The parade is held annually to honor the sailors of the Battle of Bay St. Louis during the War of 1812. The parade will feature the vocal group Chapel Heart and golf carts. The location of the event is called Hancock County and there will be a large gala with food and music and an official crowning of the new crew. The parade will feature a special pirate ship float along with other golf carts altered to look like pirate ships. This year, there will also be a route change, and instead of turning at the Ugly Part, the parade will go down to the model and then to the beach. There will also be a reenactment of the Battle of Bay St. Louis held on the beach, and a new marker will be placed commemorating the battle. All the events will help to support charities in Hancock County, and the parade will likely attract a crowd of over 5,000 people.

Brenda Comer and Chuck Lizana announced Chapel Hart will perform at the upcoming Lundi Gras parade.

SUMMARY: Good evening, South Mississippi. Meteorologist Hither Grim reports typical summer weather this weekend: hot, humid, with scattered showers and storms. Some spots, like Gulfport and north of I-10, saw 2-3 inches of rain, providing temporary relief. Overnight rain chances remain low, with Sunday morning mostly dry—good for outdoor activities or church. A weak boundary along the coast and a low-pressure area will maintain daily, hit-or-miss showers and storms through midweek. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s to low 90s, near average. No Gulf Coast tropical threats now, but two Atlantic systems are being monitored, with more activity expected later in August and September.

Meteorologist Taylor Graham gives what to expect from the Tropics and upcoming weather this weekend.
