MSU e-Center hosts pitch competition at MCITy • Innovate Mississippi

SUMMARY: The Thad Cochran Mississippi Center for Information and Technology (MCITy) recently held its inaugural pitch competition, part of the statewide CoBuilders accelerator, to encourage more startup companies in Mississippi. The event attracted seven startups, with the Tempo app winning the competition and a $3,500 prize. MCITy’s director praised the competition and its organizers for introducing a new outreach program. Mississippi State University (MSU) also has a venture capitalist program at MCITy and is focused on enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Vicksburg. MSU’s involvement relates to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ presence in the area. Innovate Mississippi is proud to partner with MCITy.
