MRA upsets Trinity Chrisitan in season opener

SUMMARY: In a high school football game, MRA (Madison-Ridgeland Academy) faced Trinity Christian from Texas. MRA’s strong defense and star-studded lineup led to an exciting game. Davis Dalton stood out as MRA’s best receiver, catching three touchdown passes. Trinity Christian put up a fight, but MRA ultimately won 27-26 in a comeback victory. This upset was a great start to the year for MRA.

The MRA Patriots start the 2020 season like they ended the 2019 season with a signature win. The Patriots come back to defeat Trinity Christian (TX) 27-26. Herbert Davis and his squad pick up a win over a Tigers team that has Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders as their offensive coordinator and his son Sheduer as their starting quarterback. Davis Dalton was the star of the night for the Patriots leading them with 3 touchdown catches.

Carly Gregg convicted of all charges

SUMMARY: After nearly two hours of deliberation, the jury found Carly Madison Gregg guilty on all charges, including the murder of her mother, Ashley Smiley, attempted murder of her stepfather, Heath Smiley, and tampering with evidence. Gregg was sentenced to two life sentences without parole and ten years for tampering with evidence. Defense attorney Kevin Camp acknowledged the case’s difficulty and stated they rejected a 40-year plea deal offered by the state. State Attorney Katherine Newman said life imprisonment was the only suitable sentence. Judge Arthur ruled that all sentences will be served concurrently. An appeal is planned within 40 days.
