Fallen law enforcement officers remembered, honored during Hattiesburg ceremony
SUMMARY: Today, in honor of National Police Week, a ceremony was held to honor 11 fallen police officers from Forest and Lamar counties in Mississippi. The Pine Bell area law enforcement memorial ceremony paid tribute to the officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting their community. The names of the officers were read aloud, roses were placed in their honor, and a gun salute and trumpet performance of TAPS occurred. Community leaders came together to show support and appreciation for the officers who gave their lives in service.
