State Treasurer David McRae encourages Mississippians to check the treasury’s database for unclaimed funds, emphasizing that this money belongs to the rightful owners. His office has returned a record $100 million in unclaimed money over the past five years. Residents can inquire about the program at (601)359-3600 or unclaimed@treasury.ms.gov and are advised to cash their checks promptly to avoid expiration.
