Missouri Democratic Party hosts town hall in challenge to Congresswoman Ann Wagner
SUMMARY: Democrats hosted a town hall in Congresswoman Ann Wagner’s district as part of their effort to reclaim Congress in next year’s midterms. Senator Chris Murphy addressed a crowd of over 1,000, criticizing Wagner and the Trump administration. Although billed as a people’s town hall, the event resembled a political rally led by Democratic activists. Voters voiced concerns about immigration policies and inflation. Wagner, attending Pope Francis’s funeral with a congressional delegation, dismissed the event as a “contrived Democrat spectacle” in a statement. Democrats have yet to announce a candidate to challenge Wagner.

Hundreds of voters were at the town hall to express disapproval of the Trump Administration and call on Congresswoman Ann Wagner, R-Mo., to host a town hall in her district. She is currently travelling to Rome as part of a bipartisan delegation attending the funeral of Pope Francis.

Rain chances are uncertain, but some dry spells are expected, particularly on Saturday, with showers and possibly a storm later in the day. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with rain, though some drying may occur in the afternoon. Confidence in the rain timing is low due to inconsistent model data.
