8 injured in north St. Louis crash

SUMMARY: A chaotic crash in north St. Louis left eight people injured, including a 42-year-old man in critical condition. The accident occurred at the intersection of West Florissant and Oriol when a Hyundai SUV, driven by a 35-year-old, collided head-on with a Mercury car. The SUV had seven occupants, five of whom were juveniles, all taken to the hospital but expected to recover. Residents are demanding changes to improve safety, expressing concerns about speeding in the area, which has experienced numerous serious accidents. Community members are advocating for drivers to slow down to prevent future incidents.

Eight people were injured in a crash Friday afternoon in north St. Louis, officials say.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. near West Florissant and Oriole avenues in St. Louis’ Walnut Park East neighborhood.

The St. Louis Fire Department reports that eight people were injured in the crash. Two suffered critical injuries, two suffered serious injuries and four suffered non-life-threatening injuries. FOX 2’s Taylor Harris shares more.
