8/12/25- Umbrella weather continues for Wednesday
SUMMARY: The afternoon weather improved as showers diminished. A new disturbance in the Caribbean is being monitored by the National Hurricane Center; it may move into the southern Gulf of Mexico (Bay of Campeche) with a low chance of development and no threat to the U.S. except possibly Texas. Another system, Tropical Storm Aaron, shows signs of strengthening with current winds of 40 mph, expected to become a hurricane by week’s end, possibly reaching Category 3. It may impact Puerto Rico and track westward before curving north near the U.S. East Coast. Locally, 1-2 inches of rain fell with more showers expected Wednesday along with heat index values potentially reaching 105-110°F by the weekend.
