Southerners love to talk and that includes Mississippians who love to tell stories.
A new study conducted by online learning platform Preply has determined it might take Mississippians a bit longer to tell those stories than it would storytellers in other parts of the nation, and it is not just because Mississippians love to embellish those stories, either.
Preply placed Mississippi as the third slowest-talking state in the nation behind No. 1 Louisiana and No. 2 South Carolina based on analysis of the rate of syllables per second people throughout the nation produce when speaking.
