Mississippi counties receive assistance for June storms

SUMMARY: Governor Tate Reeves of Mississippi announced that the White House has approved his request for Individual and Public Assistance for counties affected by the June storms. A total of 16 counties were approved for Public Assistance, including Claiborne, Copiah, Jackson, and Wayne, among others. This assistance is available to local governments and eligible private non-profit agencies to help with emergency work costs and repairing or replacing disaster-damaged facilities. Jackson and Jasper counties were also approved for Individual Assistance, which provides grants and other programs to help residents and business owners recover from the effects of the storms.
