Michael Oher says he was never adopted by Tuohy family, asks to end conservatorship
SUMMARY: Michael Oher, the former professional football player and inspiration for the movie “The Blind Side,” has filed a petition to terminate conservatorship with the Shelby County Probate Court in Memphis. Oher is claiming that the family who reportedly adopted him, Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, never actually adopted him but instead convinced him to sign a document making them his conservators. Oher alleges that the Tuohys exploited his athletic talent for their benefit and did not inform him that they would have control over his contracts. The movie “The Blind Side” has reportedly earned $330 million, from which the Tuohys have benefited.
