MDEQ holds 2023 Restoration Summit in Biloxi
SUMMARY: The 8th Annual Restoration Summit has started at the Biloxi Civic Center. The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality invited the public to learn about current and planned deepwater horizon activities. Companies showcased new projects, and representatives from local, state, and federal organizations presented restoration priorities and projects in 2023. The state will receive one and a half to two billion dollars through the BP settlement and will invest those funds into economic and ecological restoration projects. $44 million will be funded through tiers.

Harrison County approves budget with no tax increase
