Man who gave up seats on Titan submersible says OceanGate CEO was ‘dismissive’ of concerns
SUMMARY: Jay Bloom, a businessman from Las Vegas, revealed that he and his son were offered seats on the submersible that went missing during a trip to see the wreckage of the Titanic. Bloom shared texts on Facebook that he had exchanged with Stockton Rush, the CEO of OceanGate, the company that owned the submersible. Ultimately, Bloom declined the offer and the tickets went to the Dawood family. The U.S. Coast Guard is leading the search efforts for the submersible, and debris found near the Titanic wreckage has confirmed that the submersible was lost. All five passengers on board are believed to have died.
