Man wanted in connection to a shooting has been captured

MDWFP K9 helps locate three missing children
SUMMARY: A K9 from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) played a crucial role in locating three missing children in Monroe County. The children were reported missing around 2:00 p.m. on July 25. MDWFP Officer Starling and K9 Charlie reached the children's last known location by 4:15 p.m. Using an article of clothing from one of the children to guide him, K9 Charlie successfully tracked and found all three children within 15 minutes. The teamwork between the officer and the K9 led to a swift and successful resolution of the missing persons case.

Suspects in Southern University student's death face murder charges in Mississippi
SUMMARY: The Wilkinson County Sheriff's Office has issued arrest warrants for three suspects—Derek Terrell Hollins Jr., Calajia Jack, and Allyah Martin—linked to the death of Steven Harris IV, a Southern University student reported missing on July 17. Harris's body, believed to have gunshot wounds, was found in Wilkinson County. The suspects face first-degree murder charges in Mississippi and conspiracy to commit murder charges in Louisiana. Hollins is also charged with possession of a machine gun. All three are held in West Feliciana Parish Jail and will be extradited to Mississippi. An investigation is ongoing.

Man charged in death of Mississippi woman denied bond
SUMMARY: Bricen Rivers appeared in court on July 26, facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of former Southern Miss nursing student Lauren Johansen. He was denied bond for the murder charge, but granted $20,000 bonds for grand larceny and tampering with evidence.
