Man injured in officer-involved shooting in North Mississippi

SUMMARY: In Alcorn County, Mississippi, an officer-involved shooting occurred on June 8 on County Road 575 in Corinth, leaving one man injured. According to Bailey Martin, the press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), deputies responded to a service call and encountered a man who was threatening to harm himself and others with a weapon. The deputies fired shots, injuring the suspect. No serious physical injuries were reported among the deputies. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is currently investigating the incident and will share their findings with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.
