Man arrested after standoff with Madison County law enforcement
SUMMARY: A man in Madison County, Mississippi has been arrested after a standoff with law enforcement officers. The incident began when officers responded to a call about a male subject assaulting a female. Upon arrival, they discovered the female victim with multiple injuries and attempted to make contact with the suspect, who was unresponsive. Special Response Teams from multiple agencies were activated and negotiations continued until the suspect was taken into custody. A four-year-old child was found unharmed inside the residence. The female victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, and the suspect awaits his initial appearance on charges of domestic violence and kidnapping.

SUMMARY: Mississippi’s only major-league affiliated team, the Biloxi Shuckers, was eliminated from the 2025 Southern League playoffs after a 4-2 loss to the Montgomery Biscuits in game two of the Division Series. Delta State officials counter rumors as investigation continues into Black student found hanging
