M-Braves win first home game since June 2nd due to field conditions

SUMMARY: The Mississippi Braves returned to Trustmark Park for the first time since early June after losing a week of home games due to poor field conditions. The ground crew improved the field, allowing fans to finally see their home team play again. Drue Hackenberg delivered a stellar performance with 6 scoreless innings and 8 strikeouts. The Braves took an early lead and extended it with a base hit by Geraldo Quintero, scoring David Fletcher, followed by a two-run homer from Cody Milligan. The Mississippi Braves secured their first home win in three weeks with a 4-0 victory.

After three weeks on the road the M-Braves returned to their home field. They M-Braves haven’t played at Trustmark Park since June 2nd due to field conditions and had to play an extra week on the road. Trustmark Park hosted the Battle of Tombigbee game between the Mississippi and Alabama legislatures on Saturday before the M-Braves returned to play the Montgomery Biscuits on Tuesday. The M-Braves responded to their hiatus on their home field with a 4-1 win over the Biscuits. They have won three of their last four games.
