Local officer encountered gunman just before he shot toward Trump at rally, sources tell AP
SUMMARY: Former President Donald Trump, injured in an assassination attempt, called for unity and resilience at a Sunday rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The attack left Trump with a wounded ear, killed a former fire chief, and critically injured two others. The gunman, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot dead by Secret Service agents.
