Local airport becomes first electric charging station in Mississippi

SUMMARY: The Golden Triangle Regional Airport in Mississippi now has an electric aircraft charging station, making it the first of its kind in the state. The station uses a plug and play system to charge the batteries of the electric planes, allowing for about 2.5 hours of flying time before needing to be recharged. Beta Technology operates the charging station and is working with other aircraft companies to install charging stations in other states. This new technology is environmentally friendly, cost-efficient, and can greatly benefit the aviation industry in terms of sustainability and savings in fuel costs.
