Kentucky utility companies working round-the-clock to restore power after Helene

SUMMARY: Utilities are working to restore services extensive from Hurricane Helen’s remnants in Kentucky. Lexington and Richmond significant impacts, with nearly 1,500 downed wires and over 100 broken poles reported by KU. The storms affected more than 205,000 customers, marking it the company’s fourth largest in two decades. Over 1,000 employees and partners are actively restoring power, already managed to restore service to over 87% of those affected. Efforts continue around the clock to restore the remaining customers as quickly as possible.

There were more than 205,000 customers impacted by the storm, making it the fourth-largest event for the company over the last 20 years.

Shower chances Tuesday, frost advisory for Wednesday
