'Justice for Kendrick Johnson': Georgia teen found dead in gym mat 10+ years ago | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: The family of Kendrick Johnson, a Valdosta teen who was found dead at school over ten years ago, continues advocating for justice. Activists from Israel United in Christ gathered in Atlanta to demand accountability, as law enforcement has labeled Johnson’s death an accident. Found in an upright gym mat in January 2013, his family disputes the official investigation, believing he was murdered. They filed a federal lawsuit against the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and local sheriff’s office, seeking the court of appeals to review evidence they claim indicates Johnson did not die as reported. The family describes the law enforcement response as a cover-up.
It’s been over 10 years since Kendrick Johnson, a Valdosta teen, was found dead in a rolled up gym mat. While officials ruled it an accident, his family believes someone killed him. Hundreds of people from Israel United in Christ marched in Atlanta in his honor on August 3, 2024.

What do goats and Northfolk Sothern have in common? | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: Norfolk Southern in Atlanta enlisted 24 goats to clear invasive kudzu vines around its Inman Yard in Northwest Atlanta. Over four weeks, the goats successfully cleared four acres of the problematic plant, which posed risks like falling trees and flooding. The idea originated as a joke but quickly became a practical solution after contacting local goat groups. To ensure safety, the goats were fenced off at least 200 yards from trains and provided with supplemental food, water, and minerals. Following this success, Norfolk Southern plans to expand the use of goats for vegetation control at other sites, including Doraville and Austell.
An Atlanta-based railroad giant has enlisted a herd of goats to help keep its railyards clear. Norfolk Southern brought in 24 goats and one herding sheep to control kudzu spreading around its Inman Yard in northwest Atlanta.
