MCC hosts its annual โMy College Cares Dayโ to give back to the community

MS Sports Hall of Fame announces 2025 class

Man accused of firing shots at 18-wheeler driver in Jackson injured in officer-involved shooting
SUMMARY: Good evening, I’m Byron Brown. Breaking news tonight involves an officer-involved shooting with a Jackson Police narcotics officer. A crash between two 18-wheelers on I-220 South led to a suspect in a stolen Volvo exiting the vehicle and firing at one driver. Police chased the suspect into a wooded area near McCain Avenue, where the narcotics detectives shot him in the lower extremities. His injuries are not life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing, with the NBI on the scene and witnesses confirming the shooting. Authorities have recovered the stolen vehicle and the suspect’s weapon. Avoid the area if possible.
