Jackson woman receives special wheelchair to see granddaughter perform at Alcorn State

SUMMARY: Joyce Bass, who has been on hospice care and has trouble moving around, expressed her wish to watch her grandchildren play. After mentioning that owning a motorized wheelchair would greatly improve her life, generous donors made it happen. The wheelchair gives her the opportunity to attend her daughters’ and granddaughters’ games, giving her more independence. Specialty Hospice Caregivers, who focus on improving the lives of their patients, helped make this possible. Surrounded by family and friends, Bass was surprised with her new wheelchair and expressed her gratitude for the unexpected gift. This gift has brought her tears of joy and the freedom to move around as she pleases.
